Lane, Ann Elizabeth

It is with great sorrow that our family announces the peaceful passing of Ann Elizabeth Lane, 76, a dear wife, mother, mother-in-law, nanny, sister, aunt, and friend, on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Maison McCulloch Hospice. She leaves behind her devoted husband Roger Hetu, her loving children Jessica (Jed), Stephanie (Kerry), Alexander (Christine). She will be forever missed by her adoring grandchildren Max, Alton, Lane, Charlie, June and Elliot and her sisters and brothers Doris (Gino), Bill (predeceased), Connie (Gary), Marion (Bruce), Barbara (Brian), David (Cheryl). A favourite Aunt to Renee, Christopher, Jamie, Courtney, Penny, Meaghan, Cameron, Ben, Harrison, Mitchell, Alexandra, Drew, and Nicky. There are not enough words to describe how much Ann meant to so many people. She was the most loving, caring, loyal, empathetic, and forgiving person any of us are likely to meet again in our lifetime. To say she was larger than life is an understatement. Everyone who knows Annie Bannanie knows this. She had a great capacity to laugh at herself leading to many hilarious and unforgettable moments, she had an even greater capacity to forgive and grow. She was an avid gardener and created a stunning backyard oasis that brought much peace and contentment to her, Roger and the family who knew the door was always open. She was talented and clever in so many ways but was always so humble. Her determination knew no bounds. We witnessed that determination and superhuman strength so many times through out her life and particularly in her resolve to beat her illness.

Ann loved her family and friends with a passion and gave her all to them whenever she got the chance.

A celebration of life will take place on a later date.  Donations can be made to Maison McCulloch Hospice https://maisonsudburyhospice.org/donate/
