Landry, Lewisse Claire

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Lewisse Claire Landry, at the age of 59 years. Born on May 6, 1960 in Sudbury, she was the daughter of Blanche and Lucien Denommee, both predeceased. Loving mother to Andrew, Evan and Ryan. Her pride and joy was her grandson Lucien. Cherished sister of Michael (Shirley), Denise (Kyosti), Brigitte (Brian) and Johane (Gary). She will be missed by her nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Her Life to be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

  1. To Lewisse’s family, heartfelt sympathies for your loss of a gentle soul.

We knew Lewisse back in the days when we were at l’École St-Jean and Franco Jeunesse highschool. She was a quiet, pretty, sensitive child, good at school, liked by the kids and teachers alike. Some of us left Sudbury and some of us stayed. Last time we saw Lewisse was about 25 years ago at a reunion at our friend’s Danielle on Bancroft. It was nice reconnecting. Since then a few of our childhood friends have passed and I trust that Danielle and the others in heaven will be there for her too.

To Michel and Denise whom we knew and grew up with, to the family, we are saddened by your loss. My aunt, Carmen Renaud from Windsor sends her deepest sympathies as well. Blanche, mother of Lewisse and her siblings, was Carmen’s best friend for years when they were raising their little ones. She remembers Michel well when she lived in Sudbury and knew of the other girls too even after she moved to Windsor and kept in touch with Blanche. I called her today to let her know. She said “Elle était tellement fine Blanche, douce et bonne.” and was saddened by the passing of Lewisse at such a young age.

As children, we hung out after school and it is one of these friends that heard of Lewisse’s passing and let us know. Louise, as we knew her then, was and will be remembered with affection. May she rest in peace and may all that she was, as well described in some of the messages on this site by friends, continues to live on in her loved ones hearts.

  4. My sincere condolence to the family and friends. I miss you so much my dearest friend. I can’t believe you are not here anymore. Lewisse was a kind hearted and humourous person. She cared about everyone and she will be greatly missed. You don’t find a friend like that too often. She was a member of the New Beginnings group and I spent many weekend with her when she fell and hurt her arm. I would go see her on my day off to see if she needed anything. I miss your company and your laugh my friend. x0x0
