Lamothe, Robert Victor

In Loving Memory of Robert Victor Lamothe, 82 years of age of Wahnapitae, who passed away peacefully on Thursday October 22 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. He was born in Sudbury and was married to Eileen Mary Lamothe (predeceased 2004) in 1956 in Coniston. While having resided in Calgary, Alberta for a short period, Robert was primarily a life resident of the Greater Sudbury area.  Robert was a heavy equipment operator for the majority of his life with also experience as a business owner of Lamothe Construction. Through his endeavors he was responsible for the development and infrastructure of many subdivisions in his hometown of Wahnapitae (ie Lamothe Street). Robert was prolific working with his hands, building, repairing and would not hesitate to help friends and family with projects. Robert also provided limitless love and devotion as a father and grandfather. Robert enjoyed spending time with family, friends, his canine companion “Hoss” and horse racing.  Robert was a gentle soul yet with a sharp sarcastic wit.  If you were to ask family and friends, there was nothing brighter and warmer than seeing Robert laugh and smile.  Beloved husband of Eileen Lamothe (predeceased) of Wahnapitae. Loving father of Ricky of Magnetawan, Susan of Ottawa, Douglas (wife Karen) of Wahnapitae, Roberta of Sudbury, John of Sudbury, Garry (wife Deborah predeceased) of Wasaga Beach, Jason (wife Carrie) of Toronto and Martin predeceased 1963.  Cherished grandfather of Steven, Christopher, Gregory, Heather, Keith, Jennifer, Melanie, Sean, Sara, Samantha, Nicolas, Taryn, Kalan and great grandchildren Christopher, Meadow, Ocean, Josh, Ty, Ashton, Brandon, Bailey, Gavin and Violet. Dear brother of the late Roland (Eleanor), Leonard (late Marie), Lucille (late Ernest), the late Lillian (Gerry), Morris (Jean) Claudette (Mansel) (late Ted) and Raymonde (Bill). The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at Extendicare Falconbridge with special thanks to Sue for going above and beyond during this difficult time. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
