Lake, Gerald William

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerald William Lake, 72 years, on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, with his devoted wife Deborah by his side. Beloved husband of 49 years to Deborah (nee Salewski) Lake. Loving father of Allison (Rob Dampier), Pamela (Neil Beyea) and Jennifer (Michael Tennant). Cherished grandfather of Craig Dampier, the Chef (Melissa), Philip Dampier, the Soldier and Student (Melanie), Emily Beyea, the Dancer, Ethan Tennant, the Hockey Player and Rebecca Tennant, the Gymnast. Great grandfather of Carson and Vinny. Son of the late Edward and Norma Lake. Dear brother of Donald (Annie), Robert (Cathy) and Valerie (Dave McCallum), all still residing in Gerald’s hometown of Truro, Nova Scotia. Sadly missed my many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gerald moved from Nova Scotia to Ontario in 1966 where he worked at INCO’s Copper Cliff Smelter for 39 years. Gerald loved sports, especially hockey, his favorite team was the Montreal Canadiens. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses from the 6th floor of the South Tower at Health Sciences North for their loving care and support during his final days. At Gerald’s request there will be no service or visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations made directly to the Health Sciences North Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
