Kuula, Ann Marie (née LaPierre)

December 17th, 1942 – September 2nd, 2022

Our Family announces with heartache, the peaceful passing of a cherished wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, grandmother, and friend at the young age of 79.

Daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (nee Lamoureux) LaPierre. Missed by her loving husband Ronald of almost 56 years. Darling mother to two adoring children Rhonda (Robert) Joly and Steven (Don) Mercier-Kuula. Her three beautiful granddaughters who were her pride and joy Faithe Joly, Hope Joly (Fiancé Connor D’Angelo) and Destinee Joly. Also survived and lovingly remembered by her three graceful sisters Lorraine Patrick, Heather Cartmill (Kenneth) and Gloria (predeceased). As well as her three kind-hearted brothers Charles, Fred (Beth) and Patrick (Dawn).

There would need to be a book written for the number of loving family members and friends who should be added to the above. She loved every single person who had entered her life and lit up the room with her smile.

Ann was a kind, compassionate and beautiful soul. Her love for family, food, dancing, and music will always be remembered by the people who she crossed paths with. She was a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), retiring in 1999 from the 5th floor at the Memorial Hospital. She fought hard through her illness, having been diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM) in 2016. Ann will be remembered for her selflessness, courageousness and for the caring person she was.

A special thank you to Finlandia Village who made her last moments comfortable, surrounded by her family. As well as the CWL (of whom she was a member for 55 years) and St. John’s Church for giving her a place to worship and to be comforted which helped shape her into the strong woman she became.

As per Ann’s request, there will be no visitation. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Garson at a later date. You were our sunshine. You will be missed.

Donations can be made to St. John’s the Evangelist Church, Garson, ON in memory of Ann Kuula as per her wishes.
