It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Rose Kovalchuk (nee Muraska) with family by her side on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Maison McCulloch Hospice in her 90th year. Beloved wife and best friend of 65 years of John Kovalchuk. Cherished mother of Kevin (Christine) Kovalchuk. Adored grandmother of Karen and Steven. Loving sister of Stella Trezise (William - predeceased), Mary Matte (Max - predeceased), Carol Enright (Larry), Phyllis Rogerson (predeceased) (Keith), Jim Muraska (Anne-Marie), William Muraska (Francis) both predeceased and Jack (predeceased). Born on May 10, 1931 in Copper Cliff, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Tena Muraska. Rose worked as a Secretary for a number of Sudbury Mayors throughout her career, a job which she truly enjoyed. She will be sadly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. At Rose’s request, there will be no visitation or service, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s memory can be made directly to Maison McCulloch Hospice and would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I will keep your family in my prayers.

John, I’m so sorry to read that your beloved Rose has passed. May you find much comfort in the great memories you two created during all those years together. Not in Sudbury to speak to you in person but I’ll try to phone you. I’m so sorry about this. Gord
