Kallio, Lorne

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lorne Kallio on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Health Sciences North at the age of 76 years. The youngest of seven he was the son of the late Eino and Bernice Kallio of Parry Sound. Lorne moved to Sudbury at the age of 23 years to start a lifelong career with Inco retiring in 1999. Beloved husband of Jessie (predeceased - August 2019).  Much loved father and friend of Rob (Barb), Lori (Jim), stepson Steve Roberts and stepdaughter Debbie Ruest. He is now reunited with his siblings Norman, Ross, Robbie, Bernice, Lyla and Thelma. Special uncle to Donavan, Ann and Dennis. Great uncle to Lorne and Lance. In his younger, healthier years he looked forward to his week-long hunting trips with his brothers and friends. Lorne will be remembered for his continuous laughing and story telling. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Richardson, Dr. Goluch and the entire nursing and PSW staff in the dialysis unit, you all had an incredibly special place in Lorne’s heart for the compassion and care you showed to him over the years. In keeping with his wishes, there will no service or visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorne’s memory can be made directly to the Sudbury Food Bank would be appreciated.
