Jack, Vanda (nee Sanchioni)

In loving memory of Vanda Jack (Sanchioni) who passed away on August 9, 2021, at the age of 98.  Waiting for her with open arms was her husband Peter predeceased 1980.  Vanda is survived by her daughter Shelley Thompson (Patrick) and sons Robert (Diane) and Kevin (Brenda).  She is also survived by her brother Denis Sanchioni.  She was the proud Nonna to 6 grandchildren and Bisnonna to several great grandchildren.  Predeceased by her parents Giuseppe and Ida Sanchioni, sister Louisa Fasan and brothers Elio and Elfio Sanchioni.Vanda was very religious and was faithful in saying her prayers and the Rosary daily. She was proud of her Italian heritage and got to visit family in Italy several times.  She was a hardworking and social person, as evidenced by her enjoyment of many years cooking and chatting with the girls in the kitchen at the Italian Club.  She was a lover of sports and had played badminton, golf, bowling and curling. Vanda even played bocce until she was 96.  She was lucky enough to attend the 1988 Winter Olympics where she got to see many of her favorite sports including figure skating and hockey.  She loved to travel the world and was always up for a new adventure. Even recently, Vanda was still shooting for one more trip to Las Vegas. Donations to NEO Kids in Vanda’s honour are appreciated. Per Vanda’s wishes there will be no service or visitation.
