In loving memory of David Lawrence Houghton, 81 years who passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Health Sciences North. He was the beloved husband of Gloria (predeceased). Cherished father of Lynne Houghton (fiancé Eric Mills) and Angela Houghton (partner Derek Cotnam). Proud grandfather of Geoffrey Snack of Peterborough. David will be sadly missed by many friends in his community. He touched many lives with his love for his family, his humour, strength and courage. His passion for teaching and gardening was well known and inspired many. At David’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Interment of cremains will take place in the St. Peter’s Cemetery, Peterborough.
The members of the Sudbury Horticultural Society remember David fondly as a friend of the Society and one of the generous and gracious gardeners who opened his garden to us on our Open Garden Weekend several years ago. We extend our sincere condolences to his daughters and other extended family.
