Grenon, Florent Arthur

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Florent Arthur Grenon, 93 years, on Saturday, August 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Thérèse Grenon (née Marlow). Loving father of Ginette Ranger (Émile), Daniel Grenon (Monique), Lise Thibert (Richard), and Norman Grenon. Cherished, grandfather of 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was a great Dad. A dedicated family man and a great provider. He lived for and loved his children as well as all members of the five generations that he headed. He leaves us with wonderful memories of silly stories and great adventures, much laughter and an appreciation of the environment, nature, and animals. Dad was an avid reader and kept up to date in politics and current affairs. It was remarkable how he made sure to never forget a birthday. You could always count on receiving a card from him. Dad worked hard in many mines in Quebec and Ontario. An old miner whose health was affected by the early mining practices. One lesson we all need to remember as Dad would like to remind us, is to slow down. He repeated to us to take more time, have face to face discussions, enjoy the small things, read a book. He worried that we were all too busy running too fast. We will remember your sage advice, Dad. You will always be in our hearts. The family would like to say thank you to the wonderful staff and nurses of Bayshore, especially Josée, Jade, Amanda, and Natalie for all the compassion and care they showed Florent and the family, as well as Dr. McAlister and his staff, the Community Paramedic Program, especially Anik, Mark, and Gary, Rexall Drugs store in Val Caron and the very helpful staff, as well as Medigas and all the caring staff. In lieu of flowers, donations made directly to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
