It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Willis “Vern” Green on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at his residence with family by his side at the age of 77 years. Loving husband of Anna Green (nee Chretien). Cherished father of Carole Béchard (Mike) and Norm Green (predeceased). Adoring grandfather of Matthieu Béchard, Daniel Béchard (Maddison Miller), Christian Béchard and Hayley Green. Born on September 7, 1943 in Toronto, he was the son of the late Fred and Bertha Green (nee Gabriel). He will be sadly missed by extended family members and friends. In keeping with Vern’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation at this time.
Anna, Carole & family, I am so saddened to have just learned of Vern’s passing. So deeply sorry for your loss. Vern was always such a gentle man, with such a beautiful spirit, he always had a smile, and a kind word to say to you.. I know we were all made richer by knowing him.
I recall once he was doing a gig with the band at The Plaza Hotel and a couple from out of town asked for his autograph thinking he was “Stompin Tom” . How he laughed. He was a happy man, who loved to please his family and friends. Thanks for all those smiles & good memories you have left behind my friend. I know you will be greatly missed by many.
