Gratton, Romuald “Piton” – (80 Great Years)

My husband, our father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, April 23, 2018. Deeply missed by the love of his life, his beloved wife of 60 years Ida Gratton (née Duhamel) and their children Brian (Larisa), Gizele and Donald. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Marc, Josée (Billy), Shawn, Nikolai and great- grandfather of William and Lexa whom he held close to his heart. Born in Chelmsford, he was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Jeannine (Rhéaume) Gratton. To his siblings, Rachel (predeceased), Huberte (Gene), Cléo (Diane), Jacques (predeceased), Hervé (predeceased) (Sue), Angus and Conrad (Suzanne), he loved you all. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. His passion and love for the game of hockey and to the boys and men he mentored, coached and cheered on, know that he held all of you with upmost respect. To his circle of friends, thank you for the memories. Mother Theresa once said, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family”. That he did. The family would like to thank Dr. Yannick Charette and the staff at Health Sciences North for their compassion and care. As per his wishes there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Piton’s memory can be made directly to the NEO Kids Foundation.

  1. Mes plus sincères sympathies à la famille. Mes parents, Jean-Paul et Fernande parlait de lui souvent et le fun qu’ils avaient eu ensemble. Un homme aimé par plusieurs.
