Gratton, Ida

Our world has just become a lonelier place as we share the passing of our mother on Sunday, June 13, 2021, with family by her side. She was 80 years old.  She is predeceased by her husband Romuald (Piton) Gratton.  A beautiful mother to Brian (Larisa), Gisèle and Donald. She was adored by her grandchildren Josée (Billy), Shawn (Cloe), Ryan, Marc, and Nikolai. Her cherished great-grandchildren, William, Lexa, Maverick and one on the way.  She was their Mimi.  She was born on May 14, 1941, in Chelmsford, ON.  The daughter of the late Aurèle and Bridget Duhamel (nee Larocque).  Predeceased by her brother William (Gloria) and sister Hélène Mallette (Emile).  She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, family, and friends.  The utmost praise and respect for all the Health Care professionals who cared for our mother with dignity, tenderness, and dedication.  We thank you. “Let’s remember her for who she was and not what she became”.  She gave us life everyday”.  In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or service.  Donations and support made directly to the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund would be ever so grateful https://downiewenjack.ca/

  3. My heart is full for my dear friend Gizéle and her entire family. I was fortunate to meet Ida & when she and Rom visited Gizèle in Victoria. One could hear the three of them laughing for a city block. It was the purest and sweetest gift, and something I shall never forget. Like her dear Mother, Gizéle possesses that same beautiful love and laughter, empathy, caring and a pure and true, lust for life.
Take care Mon Ami, we hold you so close in our hearts. xoxo Dianne & JoJo

  6. May you fly with the Angels Mimi but don’t forget us down here. We’ll be looking for your signs and jokes. You truly blessed everyone who ever knew you or came into contact with. Maybe you could help the Leafs win the cup next year for Don or give the Habs a good fight this year for Brian.
