Gormley, Charles (Hank) Henry

In loving memory of Charles (Hank) Gormley, 67 years who passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of Cathy (Mooney) Gormley. Loving father of Troy, Karri, Michael (Megan), Billy (Vicki), Mary (predeceased) and Baby Henry (predeceased). Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Joshua, Alexis and Elliot Moon. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late John and Louise (Eagles) Gormley and son- in -law of the late Leon and Mary Mooney. Dear brother of Billy (Robin), Marguerite Bernatchez (Claude - predeceased), Linda Furlong (Lee). Hank was predeceased by siblings Evelyn Olmstead, John, Louis, Donna Dermody, sister-in-law Patricia Landers and niece Paula Furlong. A graduate from St. John’s Vocational Centre specializing in welding and St. John’s Technical School in the masonry field where he continued working for many years. Hank was a strong willed man who battled a lengthy and hard illness. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. The empathy extended to others was an expression of how beautiful a person he truly was. His sense of humor can’t go unmentioned as he could make you laugh with his wittiness. Hanks favourite pastimes were fishing, pool, bingo and spending time at the cottage with family and friends. He loved playing cards with his in – laws. For the past 7 years Cathy, grandson Christopher and all his immediate family provide the much needed help and support of Hank enabling him to have as much time with the ones he loved and cherished.
He will be in our hearts forever. We are forever grateful we were a part of his life and he ours.
A Celebration of Hank’s Life will be held at the Frood Hotel, 553 Kathleen Street on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in his hometown of Saint John, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
