It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our beloved Rita. She passed away on Thursday, August 1st, 2019, at Extendicare York, surrounded by her family. She was born in Sudbury, Ontario, the daughter of late Pete and Pearl Langdon. She married Jack Gordon (predeceased 1997). Loving mother of Mary Yanchuk (Harold), Vicky Robblee (Gord), Jim Gordon (Kathy), Wendy Gordon (Don). Caring sister to Jim Langdon predeceased (wife Nellie) of Fairbanks, Mary Frantila (husband Willie predeceased) of Lively, and Bob Langdon (wife Mary predeceased) of Webbwood. Most loving grandmother, “Granny”, to Darren, Adam, Ryan, Shaun, Katelyn, and Zachary. Special great-grandmother, “G G”, to Cory, Arianna, Alivia, and Arya. Rita had an outgoing personality. She enjoyed watching curling, making puzzles and playing cards and bingo. The family would like to thank, the staff of The Walford in Sudbury & Extendicare York (5th floor) for their compassion and caring for Rita like family. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated, to the Residence Council of Extendicare York, 333 York St. Sudbury, Ontario, P3E 5J3. A Celebration of Life, will be held, on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at the Walden Kinsmen Hall, 15 Kin Drive, in Lively, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
I was with our 105 year old aunt, Mabel, when Nell phoned about “Joes” passing. I do not drive long distances any more. I sympathise with the immediate family, but understand she was sick for an extended period of time, and the removal of pain was a blessing in disguise. May she find peace in God’s hands!
