Gibson, Gordon

It is with profound sadness that the family announce the sudden passing of Gordon Gibson at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, Ontario on June 30, 2017 at the age of 54. Dear father of Jordan and Kylea Gibson (mother Nat Bibeau) of Hanmer. Beloved son of Donald Gibson (wife Edna) of Manitowaning, and Mary Jane Connor of Windsor (predeceased). Gord will be sadly missed by his sister Kathy Heimbecker, stepsister Renee Lafrance, his niece Kayla Heimbecker and nephew Jamie Heimbecker all, of Sudbury. His children were the constant light in his life. Gord spent his entire adult life doing work that he loved in both his chosen career in the automotive industry and in his personal life. He took great pride in his customers and long term coworkers at Palladino Mazda, where he had worked for the past several years. He built strong bonds wherever he went with his quick wit, warm understanding, and light hearted conversations. Gord enjoyed being with nature, although never felt need for an idle moment. He was a gifted craftsman with the ability to build homes, which he proudly did for his family while he lived in Verner with the skills he had developed while working with his father as together they built dad’s retirement home. Although Gord had lived with illness for the last 25 years, he lived life to the fullest, rarely missing a days’ work, and never missing a moment to lift the spirits of those who he loved when they needed him most. A man of integrity and great respect for all that know him, he will never be forgotten. He has left a rich legacy of love and pride in his children. The family will share in a celebration of his life at a later date.

  5. We are so saddened to hear of Gord’s sudden passing. We have known Gord for many years dealing with the Mazda dealerships. Gord always had smile and positive outlook. He has always been very kind, considerate and helpful with all my family. His passing hits us even harder as we just picked up a new car on Thursday June 29 for which he had been his usual jovial helpful self. We will always remember him in our thoughts and prayers. If there is any assistance we can offer please let us know.
