Gibson, Robert

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Gibson announces his passing in the early morning of March 27, 2018 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury Ontario after a short illness at the age of 72. He will be missed by his loving wife of 47 years Nancy, son Todd (Judy), granddaughters Emily and Abby, daughter Kathleen (Scott) sister Wendy (Bill) and nieces and nephews. Bob had a remarkable career as a helicopter pilot in northern British Columbia and in Ontario with the MNR -- work he loved dearly. He had a passion for photography and proudly took a side job creating portfolios showcasing his daughter and her coworkers design creations. He was a skilled woodworker and was especially proud of his project of making cribs from rough maple slabs into 2 beautiful cribs for his granddaughters. After retiring, he and Nancy and their fury traveling companion Jaxx loved to "be on the road again" enjoying their many adventures in their motor home. He was a kind and gentle man, a great story teller with a wonderful sense of humour. We will always remember his many sayings and jokes. A Celebration of Roberts Life will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 336 in Falconbridge, 66 Edison Rd., Falconbridge, ON where family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00-4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bob's memory directly to the Parkinson's Society (https://secure2.convio.net/psc/site/Donation2?df_id=3041&3041.donation=form1&s_locale=en_CA)

  4. Our sincere condolences to you Nancy and all the family on the loss of a wonderful man, Bob.
We will always remember his sweet nature and grand sense of humour. He was a great boss, co-worker, and friend. Not sure where I would be today if it wasn’t for that forwarding thinking Chief Pilot at the MNR that braved to break the mold and hire the first permanent staff female pilot. He always had my greatest respect.
