Gasparini, Sylvia (Nee Brown)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Sylvia “Bubbles” Gasparini, 89 years, with her eldest granddaughter Merrill by her side on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury.  She was born in 1930 and raised in Sudbury, Ontario.  Widowed at the age of 52, she dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren ensuring we were well taken care of. A woman of grace and wisdom, she had a strong faith in Christ which guided her decision making for herself and family. Sylvia worked at the Region of Sudbury as a Supervisor of Water Billing for 25 years. When she retired in 1995, she moved to Elliot Lake and enjoyed her retirement together with her sister Ivy and brother in law Bill.  Sylvia was an avid reader, enjoyed Tai Chi and her self created English garden. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and avidly practiced her faith. Sylvia celebrated her life’s journey as it led to many friendships and relationships. One of her main messages to her family was “don’t cry for me Argentina” as a gentle reminder of her life well-lived. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother (noni), great grandmother (GG) and friend. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Amaldi “Squeaky” Gasparini.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children Faye, Scott and Joseph and their spouses Chris, Carla and Robyn. She was a proud Noni to Merrill, (Peter), Marni, Michala, Alyssa, Lucas, Marcus and Victoria; and an equally proud GG to Jonah. Sylvia’s life was also shared with her siblings Gerald, Glen Ivy, Robert, Roy and Ann. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Rd. Sudbury ON, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.
