Olive Gamble passed away peacefully Saturday February 18, 2023, at Pioneer Manor surrounded by her loving family. Olive was the spouse of the Late Lyle Gamble for 58 years and together they raised three children, Cheryl (Dennis), Danny (Lina), both of Sudbury and Stephen of Calgary. Grandchildren arrived much to their delight, Angela (Joe), James, Tyler (Brandi), Mathew (Charlyne), Tamar (Stephen), Jeffery, Ethan and Tiandra. Great grandchildren Dallas, Mattea, Sofia, Scarlett, Lyla, Maxwell, and Emilia. Olive is predeceased by her parents Percy and Edna Hone and older sister Rena Holmes, Shirley (Corby, predeceased), Richard (Joy), both of Calgary. She was a member of the South, then East congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for decades. In later years, she enjoyed telephone witnessing with a group of dear friends. Olive and Lyle were most content around a campfire or on the road with their truck and trailer accompanied by one or two grandchildren at a time. The family would like to thank the dedicated nurses, PSW’s, kitchen and cleaning staff for often going above and beyond to make mom’s last two years comfortable. Especially in the last 8 months, when she was confined to her room due to her declining health. Thank you, Roxanne, for being a compassionate advocate for mom and someone I could always rely on to get mom through those rough days. Barbara, her friend of over 60 years became mom’s roommate at the Manor. It was a comfort for mom and the family as she kept a close eye on Olive and assisted her when she could.
At mom’s request there will be no funeral. She wanted immediate family to gather for a “ Fancy Meal’ out and remember the good times as we anxiously await the resurrection. ( John 5:28-29.)
