Fraser, Wallace “Wally”

Surrounded by the love of his family Wallace Fraser, 87 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Finlandia Nursing Home, Sudbury. Beloved husband of 41 years to Claudette (predeceased) and of 10 years to Lorraine (predeceased). Loving father of Marilyn Fraser (Yvon Leblanc), Colleen Fraser (Tom Kellar), Wayne Fraser (Paula) and Dale Fraser (Maria). Cherished grandfather of Dwayne (Jenna), Neil (Sasha), Faye (Victoria), Meredith (Chris), Kyle (Mary), Katie, Emily, Mason, Bronwyn, Jessa, Zachary and great-grandfather of Maddax, Halle, Caden, Hudson, Jack, Cole, Miila, Aria, Noah and Bella. Born in New Glasgow, NS he was the son of the late George and Jenny (nee Day) Fraser. He was predeceased by his siblings Ralph Fraser, June Pauze and Mary Spinney. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and extended relatives and friends. Wallace (Wally) Fraser will always be remembered for his lasting relationships. He has left an indelible impression for all to appreciate, whether handing out his delicious homemade chocolate chip or ginger cookies, offering worldly advice or passing along his carpentry skills to a willing student. It was so often shared with us how much they liked, respected, and ”got a kick out of” our father. He loved to tease and make people laugh and with his witty sense of humour was quick to offer a remark that could catch you off guard. A very caring and generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand or in many cases undertake the complete project. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Wally’s life will be held at the Idylwylde Golf & Country Club, 400 Walford Rd., Sudbury on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
