Frappier, Ernest (Ernie) Roger

Ernest (Ernie) Roger Frappier, 61, of Sudbury, ON, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Health Sciences North. Ernie was extremely loving and proud of his family. He leaves behind his wife and best friend Brenda (Mehler) of 24 years, daughter Ashley Frappier (common-law Etienne Payer), son Mike Frappier (wife Ashley Lynn Frappier), and his first grandson, Jaxson. He is also survived by his stepchildren Serena Poitras (husband Richard Poitras and children Caleb and Mckayla), Calvin Maurice (common-law Tiffany Marlot and son Christopher), and Amanda Maurice (common-law Kelly Dennis) and his brother Norm Frappier (wife Carole Frappier), and many loving cousins, nephews and extended family. He is predeceased by his parents Aimé and Marguerite Frappier. An avid outdoorsman, Ernie enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with friends and family. He was known as a social butterfly and seemed to know everybody in town. Ernie also worked as an electrician for 25 years until he was forced to give up the career he loved due to his illness. At Ernie’s request, there will be no visitation or service. He will be cremated in full hunting gear and his ashes will be scattered at his favorite hunting spot by his buddy Gerry. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Ernie in their own way; raising a glass of their favorite drink and having a good laugh in his memory, would be quite appropriate. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff in the Respiratory Care Unit at Health Sciences North for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, Ernie would hope that you would do an unexpected act of kindness for someone in need, or a donation to the Ontario Lung Association, in his memory.

  1. I was shocked and so sorry to read of Ernie’s passing. He and Brenda were neighbours of mine for a number of years and they were missed when they moved. This world has lost a good guy, my heart felt condolences to Brenda. Ernie had not been well for a long time so we can be greatful that at last he is at peace.
