Fleming, Rodney James

A man with a heart of gold. A smile that lit up a room and a mouth that would never stay quiet! Rodney James Fleming passed peacefully on March 14th, 2021 at Health Science North in Sudbury. Surrounded by his life partner Shirley Rajotte and his youngest daughter Dawn Fleming. Sadly, missed by his daughters Nancy (Luc), Tamara. Stepchildren Ian (Stephanie) and Terri- Lynne (Pete).  His siblings Bernie (Deb) Anne, Dorie, David, Jack. And his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Josee, parents Ruth and Edward Fleming and Brother Clinton a.k.a Plug. His greatest joy in life were his children. Our goals, dreams, and accomplishments. His bratts. Grandpa Rod and Mr. GG was what he went by from his many grandchildren and great-grand children. And his loving life partner Shirley. She was his world. She made him the happiest man alive, 14 years of happiness. And his dogs, the newest member Sassy and Predeceased Daisy and Miley. He always lived with the mentality of "glass half full" and took immense joy from pestering his loved ones. Always with a mischievous smile in tow. Seeing him live out his dream of being a truck driver was everything! And it brought him joy, new relationships and memories that will last a lifetime. He loved his family whole heartedly near or far, we were always close to his heart. Thank you to his nurses and Dr's at the North Eastern Cancer Center and HSN, 4th floor. And thank you to Rangers (Janice) for your kindness, compassion, an ear, and support through these difficult times. Donations gladly accepted to The Cancer society and Pet Save. They hold apart of his heart. Funeral service and burial to be announced at a later date.

  1. My days are not the same without you. I miss sitting watching our favourite shows in the evening. Nothing will ever be the same. I love you more than words can say, and actions can show. You were my world. It was so hard to watch you suffer the way you did, and I am so relieved that you wont suffer any more. Rest In Peace my love, until we meet again.
