Elizabeth Jean Fiacconi, 79 years, passed away with her loving family by her side on May 15, 2019. She was born March 7, 1940 to Mark and Jean Johnson in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where she grew up surrounded by a large family and loving camp in Goulais Bay. She married her high school sweetheart, the basketball jock Henry Fiacconi, who was the love of her life for 55 years. They moved to Sudbury to raise their family and share their friendship. Her love of camp continued at Pumpkin Point where she hosted the family for many years, whether she wanted to or not! Beth loved to love on people. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh and smile. She was a pussy cat at heart (or British bulldog) and genuine to a fault because she told it like it was. Over the years she became a wonderful Italian cook and loved tending to her gardens and flowers. She will be well remembered for her handcrafted additions to every greeting card that always made you feel extra special, her ability to host a dinner party on a moment’s notice and for waving on the doorstep until you completely left the driveway. She is the loving and devoted mother of David (Tamara), Marty and Jennifer (Jason Thompson). Adored grandma of Chelsea (Milan Micic) in Singapore, Sierra (Dom Girard), Zachary & Tyler and great grandma of Claudio & Mia in Singapore. Cherished sister of Marian (Damon Godfrey), Ron (Rosemarie) both predeceased, Gwen (Walter Wolowich), predeceased by Jerry (Sharon), Ken (Barbara), predeceased by Lynn (Cathy) & Leslie (Shirley) all of Sault Ste. Marie. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews and many close friends. A “Celebration of Beth’s life” will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Steelworker’s Hall, 66 Brady Street, Sudbury from 2 – 6 p.m. Donations to the Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated.
