Fabbro, Kent “Anthony”

1942-2022

In loving memory of Kent Anthony Fabbro, who passed away suddenly at Health Sciences North on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the age of 79. Son of the late Louis and Edith Fabbro (Price). Kent will be lovingly remembered by his children Jamie (Cheryl Savage), and Jennifer (Brendan Ashcroft). Beloved grandfather to Brendan, William, Caden, Mikayla, Jameson, Sloane, and Mallory. Beloved brother to Robert (Anne Fabbro), Mary-Lou (Haydn Butler), and Nelleme (predeceased). Kent will be dearly missed by his close friend and companion, Susan, her son Jesse (Krysten), and grandson Peyton, with whom he shared the last 30 years. He also leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Kent was well known for his hard work ethic, strength, and compassion. He enjoyed golfing, cycling, tennis, and making his friends / family laugh. He took a genuine interest in what was happening in the lives of those around him.

From his early days of sailing at the Sudbury Yacht Club, competing on weekends in the Y-flyer regattas. He shared his passion for sailing with his children spending every summer at the SYC creating memories.

Kent's greatest pleasure was his love of flying, having successfully obtained his pilot's license and flying his Mooney in his 20s. His passion for flying continued for over 35 years as a member, volunteer, and Past President of the Sudbury Model Aircraft Club. He was instrumental in the Club's long-standing success in attracting the attention of more hobbyists that shared their love of acrobatic competition. Kent surrounded himself with many friends in the COPA and MAAC associations spending hours at the flying fields and traveling all over Southern Ontario to participate in a Fun-Fly. He always spoke fondly of his flying pals and developed lifelong friendships with his fellow pilots.

The family would like to offer our sincerest thank you and gratitude to the physicians and staff of Health Sciences North, for their care and compassion. In his memory, a donation can be made to the Health Sciences North Foundation https://hsnfoundation.com/donation-form/give-in-memoriam-or-in-honour-of/

As per Kent's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Kent's Life will take place in August, details will be shared with family and friends very soon.

  1. Sincere condolences on Kent’s passing. I have such wonderful memories of our (much younger) days sailing on Lake Ramsey and various flying adventures, including one eventful flight to Toronto for dinner at Ports of Call only to get fogged in for 2 days and being entertained by Louis and family.

  2. I’m so sorry to hear of Kent’s passing- we always enjoyed seeing him and the whole Sudbury group during flying events all around Ontario. He had a great sense of humour and was always a solid supporter of everything aviation related. Sending our condolences to Kent’s family and friends…
