Eldridge, Jack Ralph

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Jack Ralph Eldridge, 81 years on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Jack is survived by Lynda, his loving wife of 27 years. Along with six children, Scott (predeceased) (Chrissy), Greg (Ethel), Jack Jr. (Rose), Richard (Renee), Jamie (Cheryl), Jennifer (Brendan) and was the cherished grandfather of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and close friends. Born in Sudbury, he was the son of the late John and Phyllis Eldridge. Dear brother to Myrna (predeceased) and Margaret (Harry). Jack will be remembered for his integrity, compassion, sharp mind and big heart for his children and grandchildren. He loved sports, especially baseball, his favourite team was the Toronto Blue Jays and would never miss a game sitting in his favourite chair with a glass of red wine. In his earlier days Jack loved the outdoors and spent much of his free time working on his golf swing, skiing down mountains, and jogging through Bell Park. For 32 years, Jack dedicated his career in the Precious Metals Lab at INCO with very fond memories. A special thank you to the people at Extendicare York for their loving care and support during his short stay. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Salvation Army in his name would be appreciated. Jack was a long-time supporter and believed in the mission of this wonderful charity. A Celebration of Jack’s life will be held at the Lockerby Legion at a later date.

  1. Lynda and family, please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I haven’t seen Jack in some years but I remember him as a jovial guy who doted on his wife and kids. I hope you can find some comfort in your loving memories of a sweet man.
