It is with great sadness that the family of Reynald Durette announces his unexpected passing on Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 at the age of 75 in Sudbury, Ontario. Reynald was born on March 20th, 1945 to George and Alda (Malette) Durette in Springer Township Ontario. He later met the love of his life Carmen (Lapierre) and married; recently celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in October. Loving father to Lisa Bertrand (Will) and Patricia. He was a doting grandfather to Nicholas, Kristen, Zacharie, Steph and Neveah. Reynald was a true family man, happiest when surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Anyone who knew him knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Reynald was predeceased by his parents George and Alda (Malette), his siblings Madeleine (late Albert Scully) Gerard, Marguerite (late Lionel Legault), Georgette (late Aurelien Beaudry), and Lucien. He is survived by his sister Cecile (late Thomas O’Brien) and brother Sylvio (Claire) of Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. Special brother-in-law to Roger Lapierre and Claude Lapierre (Denise). He will be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Reynald worked many years for the School Board starting his career at Marymount College where he was fondly remembered by teachers, coworkers, and students. Due to the restriction surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, a gravesite memorial will be held in the spring. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
My father was an angel on earth and would stop at nothing to help his family even if that meant putting his own needs aside.He was a strong dedicated man who wore his heart on his sleeve but to never be mistaken his kindness for weakness.I have yet to find such a kind soul he was truly a rare and precious person.He has definitely earned his wings and will forever be cherished and never forgotten.
