Ducharme, Lorne

In Loving Memory of Lorne Ducharme who was called home to be with his Maker on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury at the tender age of 67. Cherished husband to Sharon (nee Cottrell) with whom he spent 48 exceptional years. Knight in shining armour to his daughters Julie (David) Phillips and Jodi-Lynn (Steven) Speck. Special Papa to Parker (Sara), Connor (Sarita) and Hunter. Sadly missed by brothers Robert, David, James (predeceased) and sisters Lorraine, Karen, Verla, Valerie and their families. He will be missed by his lifelong friends Mervin and Linda McEwen and family. Papa was the name that truly defined him, he loved his family, extended family and friends with fervour especially his grandchildren. He never encountered a stranger, a family member or a friend that he didn’t leave with a smile. His jokes and “one liners” were abundant and will forever be in our memories. Lorne was an unforgettable man with a knack for story telling and had more stories then you could ever imagine. His legacy will be infinite. He would gladly give you the shirt off of his back, especially to show you his tattoos of his grandsons. He will be remembered for his joyful and giving nature and his spirit that was never broken and will endure forever. In keeping with Lorne’s wishes the family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date. Donations may be made directly to Pet Save in Lorne’s memory would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Sharon, Jodi & Faimily. We are so sorry to hear of Lorne’s passing. As mentioned in his obituary, we also remember his many jokes and one liners. We sat behind him in church for a number of years and always enjoyed our little chats before church began. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word, especially for our two granddaughters when they attended Christmas Eve services. I know he cared a great deal for his grandsons as he would say when Parker and Hunter were coming to visit. I believe the last time I saw him, he was at the mall with Hunter and they were behaving like best buddies. Rest In Peace Lorne.
