Doucette, Marjorie Lynn

Surrounded by family, Marjorie Lynn Doucette passed away peacefully on April 1, 2016 at Maison Vale Hospice, Sudbury in her 66th year, after a long fought battle with lung cancer. Beloved wife of Leonard Doucette. Cherished mother of Paulie (Darrin) Nodecker and Andy Doucette. Loving Nana of Avery, Kyle and Alexis. Dear sister of Ann Claridge. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Marjorie (Smith) Claridge. Lynn enjoyed spending her summers at their camp on Tobacco Lake, Manitoulin Island where there was always an open door for family and friends. Her greatest pleasure was spending time in the water with kids and grandkids and many friends. “Camp” is her legacy that will always have a very special place in all of our hearts and for generations to come. Lynn owned and operated her own hairdressing business – Lynn’s Beauty Salon, in Hanmer for 35 years. Running her business in her home to be close to her children was important to her. Children were her passion. As her own children were getting older she and Len began fostering children with special needs. In 20 years of working with the Children’s Aid Society they cared for more than fifty children. Family was important to Lynn and she opened her heart to give the care and attention these children so deserved. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 6, 2016 at 11:00. a.m. at the Lyons Memorial United Church, 19 Meredith St., Gore Bay, ON. Interment to follow at the Gordon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Maison Vale Hospice in Sudbury or Lyons Memorial United Church in Gore Bay would be greatly appreciated.

  1. It was a pleasure knowing Lynn and the Doucette family. Lynn had a great sense of humour and it was always a pleasure talking to her either at a high school ball game or bumping into her at Food Basics. Rest in peace Lynn.
