Dent, Steven Earl

The family announces the peaceful passing of Steven Earl Dent on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family at the age of 73. He will be missed by his wife Yvonne, who stood by his side for 50 years. Loving father of Tammy (André), Angel (Gary) and Shauna (Paul). He will be remembered by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born on May 18, 1946 in Sault Ste Marie, he was the son of the late Oswald and Lina May (nee Chisolm) Dent. Many times during Steve’s life, he worked to serve his community and those in need.  A Kinsmen in Blind River for many years, a Lay Reader at St. Saviours Anglican Church and then as an organizer of a food bank in Sudbury. Steve’s goal was to help others. He frequently opened his home to those in need or to friends passing by.  A train-enthusiast since birth, Steve delighted in watching and collecting model trains over the years, particularly Algoma Central trains that his dad worked on.  Steve’s legacy however, is that his children know the Lord, Jesus Christ. He taught them to stand on their feet, even in difficult times.  In his passing, he is now whole and healed to walk with and laugh with our Lord.

  1. Dear Family
I talked with my first cousin many times over the years and so grateful in all that he taught and shared with me about our families and his rents jangle faith in our Lord Jesus Christ! He had a beautiful heart for helping people! He is free of pain but his spirit will always be close by! Love you cousin Stevie Maria
