Dailey, Gordon Robert William

July 13, 1945 – January 28, 2015
Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Linda (nee O’Connell) for 48 years. Loving father of Leanne, Heather (Craig) and Paula (Mike). Special Poppa to Logan, Declan, Tessa, Eric, Jacey, Evan and Chelsea. Dear son of the late Carl and Phyllis (nee Pictor) Dailey. Dear brother of Sylvia, Patsy and Don (Monica). Special brother-in-law to Gordon and Nancy Smith of Yuma, Arizona. Special uncle to Nancy (Paul) of Toronto and many other nieces and nephews. Gord will be sadly missed by his fishing and hunting buddies, his many neighbours and also by his son-in-law Dan. Gord was born in Swindon, England and came to Canada when he was one year old. He was a well-known athlete in his younger days and worked for 32 years at Bell Grove and Countryside arenas. He worked his dream job of maintaining the arenas and driving the Zamboni. Gord was very well known and respected in the sporting community. “Everyone knew and loved Gord.” He will be greatly missed by his four legged companion, Avry. Special thanks to the 4North staff at Health Sciences North. At Gord’s request there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of his life will be held at the Lockerby Legion, Branch 564, 2200 Long Lake Road, Sudbury on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m. If desired, a donation to a charity of your choice can be made in his memory. Arrangements entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services.
