Cvitkovich, Stephen Joseph, February 21-1938 to March 15-2019

My journey on earth has finally ended.
It's time for me to join my parents, George & Rose (Yanyk) Cvitkovich, my 2 brothers – Tony (Connie), Yuri and our niece Rose Ann (Little Rosie) Cvitkovich. Sadly, I'm leaving behind my beloved wife of 54 years Elizabeth (Lahaie), our caring children Kelly Ann (Eric Tettmar), Mark (Debra), Grant (Leslie) and our wonderful grandchildren Andrew, Elizabeth, Cameron, Ava, Jessica, Naomi, and great granddaughter Kristen, and my favourite sister Roseann (Gary McKay).
To my former students (Sioux Lookout, Levack, French River) ~ I enjoyed interacting with you and I hope that I helped you, in some way, to become responsible citizens of this world. To those who helped me navigate through life with your friendship and kindness --- Thank You.
To those I have offended, please accept my sincere apology. Thanks to HSN staff, the Palliative Care Group and staff/volunteers at McCulloch Hospice. The world is full of hate. We could do much to better the world by respecting and helping each other, regardless of race, colour, creed, social status and politics. There will be no viewing, but you are cordially invited to attend my Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00pm. Doors will open at 1:30pm. It will be held at the Student Life Centre, Cambrian College, 1400 Barrydowne Rd, Sudbury ON. Parking in Gold Lot #15. I have prepared the Celebration and will host my own party. It will be a unique experience. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Terry Ames Care Fund (Northern Cancer Foundation) or Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
Bye for now … until we meet again. Steve

  13. Our sincere condolences to Liz and the family. We have enjoyed many great times in Florida and at home with Steve and Liz over the years and could always count on Steve for his witty humour, social finesse, friendliness, sincerity, openness and gentlemanly courtesy. His stoic and courageous battle with his disease was admirable and exemplary, almost unbelievable, but was in keeping with his strong character and unshakable beliefs representing the best of humanity. He was one of the best. May he rest in peace.

  14. Elizabeth and family it was breath taking to read Steve’s obituary. He was always so with the program in many ways. I was always so glad to meet both of you when the occasion arose. Elizabeth you had the best partner who was so compassionate to everyone. He was special and you were by his side the whole way . My parents always asked how you were when ever they came to visit and always mentioned your participation in the C.F.M. when you were in Levack. Our prayers are with you at this time and may God hold him in the palm of his hand. the Dupuis, Dominic,Brophy families.

  15. We got to know Steve and his dear wife Elizabeth in Daytona Beach Florida where as teachers we both had an ownership position as part of the teachers group. He spent hours in the pool at the Americano. He was always upbeat and such a pleasure to converse with. We both were offspring of eastern European parents. He was my tovarich. RIP BIG GUY.
