CLARK, Frances Fern

In loving memory of Frances Clark (nee Kirwan), 77 years, who passed away peacefully at Pioneer Manor with her immediate family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Alexander Clark (2000). Loving mother of Alexander Clark (predeceased-1985) and Timothy Clark (predeceased-1996). Proud grandmother of Sarah Dusterhoft (Noellan), Ashleigh Spence, Andrew Spence, T.J. (Timothy) Clark and Matthew Clark, great-grandmother of Xander. Frances was the daughter of the late J.P. and Irene (nee McNicol) Kirwan. Dear sister of John Kirwan (Mary), Bonnie Vellow, Audrey Vansteenoven (Cornelieus), Hayes (Betty Boucher), Sharon Henderson (Victor) and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Survived by her daughters-in-law Christiane Spence (Fred) and Sylvie Dubreuil (Mike). For the past fourteen years, Frances has called Pioneer Manor her home and was lovingly cared for by all the staff. Her last day was surrounded by staff members who all have fond memories of Fran. They came to visit and made sure that her needs were met. She truly felt loved by all the staff; from the front desk, management, cleaning staff, maintenance, activity girls, kitchen staff, and especially all her care givers on the second floor. Frances loved life and lived it to the fullest to the best of her abilities. She spent many days in front of her computer "tweaking" pictures for events held at Pioneer Manor. She was past President of the Residents' Council and was often referred to as "the Mayor of Pioneer Manor." Fran loved people, especially those in need, and never failed to say "hello" to a resident who may be having a bad day or just feeling lonely. Of course, a day didn't go by unless she said "I have a job for you, should you accept". She loved bingo, of course, thanks to her mother could be seen frequently darting down Notre Dame in her electric chair to enjoy a few hours of entertainment. Family gatherings were her favourite, especially with all the special people in her life, from trips to Florida, birthday parties, graduations, Christmas, BBQ's, garage parties or just a good meal. She was always the hit of the gatherings and was lovingly referred to as "Aunty Fran" by all. In keeping with Frances’ wishes there will be no visitation. An interment service will take place at a later date in the Capreol Cemetery where she will rest with her husband and two sons. Donations in her memory can be made directly to the Pioneer Manor Residents' Council or the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
