It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald Chartrand on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Health Sciences North at the age of 70. Born in 1949 in Sudbury, he was the son of the late Toussaint and Juliette (nee Lefebvre) Chartrand. Loving husband and best friend for 20 years to Carole Frappier. Beloved father of Patrick and Anne. Cherished pepère of Jessica, Kayla, Missy and Kelly. Great grandfather to Macy and Kara. He will be sadly missed by his siblings Liliane Freisting (predeceased), Leo Chartrand, Jeannette Vaillant, Florence MacPherson (Glen), François Chartrand, Michel Chartrand, Theresa Chartrand (David), Susan Chartrand. Ron leaves behind his sister-in-law’s Marielle Myre (predeceased) (Charly), Colette Dagostino (Mike), Diane Delongchamp (Don), Lise Brideau (Gerry) and brother-in-law’s Daniel Frappier (Suzanne), Louis Frappier (Raymonde) as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family would like to thank the nursing staff on the 5th Floor, Cardiac ICU at Health Sciences North for the compassion and care they showed to our family. Ron was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors, friends and family could always count on him for a good story. He was a hard-working family man who enjoyed providing for his family. For 30 years, he worked as a trucker for Interpaving, his colleagues knew him as “Squeaky”. Ron will be remembered for the many lives he has touched along the way; he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Jean de Brébeuf church, 26 Kathleen Street, Sudbury , the family will receive visitors from 9:30 until Mass time.
