Cacciotti, Dino

In loving memory of Dino Cacciotti, 67 years old, who passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Health Sciences North, Sudbury surrounded by family and close friends.

“Dino Machino”, “Coach”, “Chico Chicken”.

Beloved husband and best friend to Cynthia (née Montgomery), married 43 years. Loving father of Cody Cacciotti (Alix), Kaitlin Cacciotti (Adam). Cherished grandfather of Raffi and Aila Cacciotti. Dear son of Raffaele and Wanda Cacciotti/Ceti (nee Gavillucci), both predeceased. Dear brother of Lina Rybachuk (John), and Remy Cacciotti (Bonnie). Uncle to Jody Rybachuk, Tina Cacciotti (Doug), Trisha Corda (Joel), Brent (Marissa) and Chase (Amanda) and Craig (Chloe) Montgomery, as well as a great uncle to Kyle, Russell, Reggie, Charlotte Caleb, Dylan, Carter, Clark, Cal (predeceased), Andrew, Gia and Charlie. Loving godfather to Cara (Josh) and honorary uncle to their children, Jax and Myla.

An electrician by trade, Dino took tremendous pride in his work both professionally or while lending a hand on projects to family and neighbors.  He enjoyed spending time out at the family camp on Millerd Lake and could often be located tinkering somewhere on the property. A trendsetter, Dino was an avid recycler before it was mainstream, never throwing anything away because anything could be salvaged with a little duct tape and silicone.

He loved to entertain and was always ready with a good joke or a song. Re-discovering his passion for music later in life, Dino was proud member of the Stubborn Fried Chicken Band. Dino happily preformed for friends and family and enjoyed sharing his musical talents with his grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.

A beloved teammate and fierce competitor, Dino was long time member of the Sudbury Soccer League and continued to give back to the sport by serving on boards and coaching numerous youth and high school teams. He was a member of the Sudbury Steelworkers Local 6500 peewees that captured the Eastern Canadian Championship in 1968.

He also enjoyed playing pickle ball and golf and could often be found out around town as part of his regular Monday morning breakfast crew.

A special thanks to Bob and Patty Montgomery and Neil and Heather Edwards for their unwavering love and support. The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Health Sciences North for their care, support, and compassion.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life between 1:30pm and 6:30pm on Monday, March 18th, 2024 at the Lockerby Legion at 2200 Long Lake Road in Sudbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Parkinson’s Support Group of Sudbury or to a charity of your choosing.
