In Loving Memory of a life well lived and loved, Robert “Bob” Burrell, 79 years suddenly passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband and friend of 56 years to Patricia “Pat” Burrell (née Martin). Loving father of Wendy Rechanicz (Bob), Doug (Kim), Peter (Sherrie) and Mark (Andrea). Cherished Papa of Ryan, Cody, Colin, Jamie, Jacob and Sophie. Born in Iroquois Falls, ON, he was the son of the late Douglas and Reta (née Page) Burrell. Dear brother of June Skrypetz (predeceased) (Bill) and fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Jim Martin (Marina) and sister-in-law Gail. Special uncle of Michael (Debbie) and their son Mckinley, Christopher (predeceased) and Roxanne (Corey) and their children Jaeden, Reese. Bob retired in 1997 as a Master Welder Mechanic after 42 years of dedicated service. Upon his retirement he was gracefully introduced to a new passion, woodworking by a dear friend René Poirier. As the years passed, he was able to take great pride in mastering his skills and produced some fine quality and intricate furniture for his family and friends to appreciate. He was forever grateful for the many gifts that he was bestowed in life but was also appreciative of the simpler things such as camping, popcorn, hotdogs and french fries. He leaves a rich legacy of someone who was very dependable and willing to share his knowledge. What brought the greatest joys in his life were witnessing the many accomplishments of his family especially the quality times spent with his grandchildren. A true “Family Man”, whether driving his grandson to the hockey rink, a supportive presence in the stands, repair and maintenance for the “boys toys”, woodworking instructions or playing playdoh, his family was very fortunate to be touched by his life and will always be grateful for the care and kindness he shared. In keeping with Bob’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 1114 Auger Ave, Sudbury on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00a.m. Family and friends are welcome to join with the family at the Church after 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory can be made directly to the Calvin Presbyterian Church, “Window Fund”.
