Although we lost touch soon after high school there has not ever been a week go by that I haven’t thought about Wayne and wonder how he was dealing with his physical challenges and life in general. As kids we’d run around on the rocks behind our homes, while as teens we sometimes hung out in his garage, smoking menthol cigarettes and listening to the Statler Brothers’ “Flowers on the Wall”. He was a gentle soul, kind and funny. The strongest language I ever heard him use when we disagreed on something was, “Get out of town, Brown”. I hope that his later years were good to him, and that he has finally found peace. My sincerest condolences go out to Wayne’s sisters and his entire family.
