It is with heavy hearts and tremendous sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Marcel Brisson with family by his side on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Maison McCulloch hospice. Born on April 8, 1933 in Lorainville, QC, he was the son of the late Hector and Victoria Brisson (nee Brassard). Loving husband for 58 years of Colette Brisson (nee Lavigne). Cherished father of Daniel, Guy (Melissa) of Sudbury, Paula of Timmins, Edward “King Ed” (predeceased) and foster son Nicholas. Adoring grandfather of Jocelyne of Sudbury, Kathryn of Timmins, Nicole (Stephane) of St-Charles, Kevin (Brigitte) of Timmins, Christine (Daniel) of Sudbury, Melissa (Derek) of Capreol, Markus of Sudbury and Maija of Sudbury. Marcel will be sadly missed by his siblings Gerald (predeceased) (Lucille of Sherbrooke, QC, Gisèle (Hector) Landry of North Bay, Rhéal (predeceased), Carmen (Denis – predeceased) Lalonde of North Bay, André of Sturgeon Falls, Jeanne D’Arc (Jacques) Lalonde (both predeceased), Gerald (predeceased) (Louisette) of Montreal, Simone (Pierre) Letendre of Ottawa, Lucille (George) Fahey of Newfoundland, Jacques of Montreal, Denis (Suzy) of Montreal and Irene of Montreal. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Maison McCulloch hospice for the compassion and care provided during Marcel’s stay, as well as Dr. Monique and Maurice St-Martin for providing care during his time at home. In keeping with Marcel’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family mass will be held at a later date.
