Brekljacich, Norman “Berky”

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved dad Norman “Berky” with family by his side on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Health Sciences North at the age of 82 years. Born in Rouyn-Noranda, QC, he was the son of the late John and Therese (nee Frechette) Brekljacich. Missing him will be his Special Friend Jean, his children Cyndy (Glenn), and Allan (Donna), and Jean’s children Boyd, Sharon, Carolanne, Lionel, Bernard, and Ephram. Loving brother of Johnny (predeceased), Susan (Bob), Silvio (Bernita), and Alice (Brian).  He will be missed by 4 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He also had special relationships with Jean’s 9 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren. Berky was a talented carpenter and had put his mark on most of the houses in Dowling, whether it was building cupboards, drywalling or painting.  He was also a talented artist, and many family and friends have received his beautiful paintings.  He loved nothing more than going fishing on hidden creeks, or bird hunting or even a game of chess.  He loved spending time with family and listening to country music especially Chet Atkins. In keeping with Berky’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service

  3. My condolences to the family and friends of Berky. I’ll always remember that time when Berky was the only family member available to pick me up from school this one time when I was sick. He picked me up and brought me home and made sure I was ok until my mum got home. I’m always grateful for that. I always had fun chatting with him and I am blessed to have some of his paintings. I will miss him.

    Rest In Peace Uncle Berky
