Bradley, Patricia (Pat) (née McGuigan)

It is with profound sadness that the family announces her peaceful passing in her home on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the age of 82.  Daughter of the late Thomas and the late Dora (née McGuigan), predeceased by her husband Richard (Dick) Bradley 2009, and loving mother of Jocelyn (David), David (Jenna). Cherished Nana to Lauren, Logan, Jayna, Tim, Nyla and Alicia and Great Nana to Michael, Kingsten and Alistair. Dear sister of the late Terry (Carol), of the late Susan (Norm) and Gregory (Susan), sister-in-law Dolly (Louis) Vildaer.  Dear Aunt to many nieces and nephews with special mention to Kerri-Ann Rochon and Carole Williams.
Born in Weston, Ontario and moved to Sudbury at an early age, growing up in Lo-Ellen Park.  In her early 20’s, Pat modelled the latest fashions for Levine’s Ladies Wear and belonged to Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Pat had several jobs including receptionist at Cecutti’s Bakery where she met Richard, fell in love and where happily married for 48 years.  She enjoyed hosting memorable dinner parties, dancing and jiving with her husband. Pat continued to work and would finally retire after 38 years at a local Glass company.
During retirement she enjoyed painting ceramics, which she would give to us as gifts on special occasions.  She loved polar bears and would watch many documentaries on them. This would be the time that Pat would get a new roommate, Callie the cat.
Pat travelled extensively to Portugal, Spain, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Caribbean and Alaskan Cruises, East and West of Canada.  As a past member of CARP, she travelled to France and the US.
Mom was a kind, giving soul and was the “go too” when we needed advice and seemed to always have the answer to our questions. Always remembered by her laugh and “gift of the gab”. Throughout Mom’s life, she always showed strength and independence. This was especially evident during her 22 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
The family would like to acknowledge Pat’s dear friend, Dorothy and a special Thank You to the PSW’s and Nurses (Corey) for their support and care over the last year.
As per her wishes, cremation will take place.  A Celebration of her Life will be held for family and friends at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 564 (2200 Long Lake Rd. Sudbury) on Saturday,  December 2, 2023 from 2:00pm to 6:00 pm.
Donations in Pat’s memory can be made directly to the Northern Cancer Foundation – Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice.
