Loving mother to her son Cameron Bowie and his wife Kelly Bowie. Cherished “Nana Banana” to her grandson Connor Bowie. Betty lived a full and colourful life. She was born in Glasgow Scotland in 1922, the youngest of six children born to Allan and Agnes (nee Cook) Hunter. She immigrated to Canada with her husband in the 1950’s and lived in Toronto until 2004. She moved to Sudbury in 2004 and spent her final years in the loving care of St. Joseph’s Villa of Sudbury. The family would like to thank all the staff of St. Joseph’s Villa for their years of caring, comfort, and respect that they gave to Betty. Special mention to Nicole, Laya, Renee, and Wayne of Hillcrest Neighbourhood and a heartfelt thanks to Sister Mildred and the Guardian Angels who gave her comfort in her final days. Betty’s final wishes were to be cremated. Due to COVID restrictions a Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at a later date. The tales of Betty’s late night antics and day time heists will be sorely missed but not so much as Betty herself.
“We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet, for auld lang syne”.
