It is with great sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Jeannette Edna Blanchette (nee Ross) on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at her residence at the age of 87 years. Predeceased by her husbands Roger Blanchette and Jack Anderson. She leaves behind her partner and caregiver Kees Steinhart. Loving mother of Emily Anderson, Albert (Collette), Sylvia Boyd (Dave), David (predeceased), Roy, Susan Calder, Joan Dumontelle (Claude) and stepdaughter Diane Lambert (Rolly). Cherished grandmother of Jackie, Sean, Doreen, Jeannette, Dave Jr., Glen, Jody-Lynn, Sarah, Adam, Kim, Lynn (predeceased), Stephan and Michel. She will be sadly missed by her 25 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Jeannette was a long-time associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion-Branch #76. She will be remembered for her lifetime commitment to the Ladies’ Auxiliary Committee for Branch #76, where she served as President then Zone Commander. She catered numerous events for the Royal Canadian Legion-Branch #76, as well as selflessly gave many hours of volunteer work for the Greater Sudbury communities. Jeannette enjoyed listening to the City of Greater Sudbury Police bagpipes and was known to be their “biggest fan”. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Jeannette was an inspiration to us all with her dedicated work ethic to the community, in particular Branch 76. Small in stature but big in ability. Condolences to her family.
