It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (Blackie) Black on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Health Sciences North at the age of 72. Born in Sudbury to the late George and Nesta (Lording) Black. Beloved husband of Winnie (Dore) Black. Loving father of Darrin (Merci Miron-Black) and David (Ginette Gervais). He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends. Blackie was a skilled tradesman and worked for many years as a machinist, then foreman at Bristol Machine in Sudbury. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting and had a special passion for golf. He loved going to Jak’s diner and having coffee with “the girls”. A Celebration of Blackie’s Life will be held at Fielding Memorial Park, 345 Fielding Road, Lively on Friday, July 20, 2018. Family and friends are welcome between 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
