Bennett, Wayne Earl

December 5th, 2020 (75)

In loving memory of Wayne Bennett, 75 years.  Passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North, Sudbury Ontario on Saturday afternoon December 5th, 2020. Beloved husband of Raymonde Bennett (nee Roy).  Son of the late Gerald and Aurore Bennett.  Fondly remembered by his sister Bonnie (Vince Salvatore) and Jamie (Liz). Will be sadly missed by his children Jody (Catia) and Daina (Kevin) of Sudbury.  Cherished grandfather of Carlos, Max, and Isla. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Our Dad was a Conductor/Engineer at INCO for 33 years. He was most happy at his residence on Murray Lake, Markstay, Ontario.  Many residents of Murray Lake would refer to him as the “Stompin’ Tom” of Murray Lake as you could often hear his voice carry over the lake while he strummed his guitar singing his favourite tunes. He loved the great outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Most weekends involved a fire and guitar surrounded by many special family members and friends. He loved his grandchildren and was always waiting on the progress of their hockey games and how many goals they scored. He was their greatest cheerleader. We would like to thank all the Doctors and nurses with a special mention to Steve and Wendy and Dr. Sauve of the ICU unit at Health Sciences North for their special care and compassion that our Dad received. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Dad was loved by many and will never be forgotten.

  1. Rae and family, so sorry for your loss. Always had a great time visiting you guys on Murray. Most recently this summer with my dad Jack, fishing on the lake. He knew all the hot spots and they both shared many stories about their past when they were together:) I know Wayne and Jack are now looking down at us, he was a great friend. He knew how to have fun and make you laugh! My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. Sincerely, Bill
