Passed away peacefully at Maison McCulloch Hospice on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Beloved wife of 58 years to Clément Bélanger. Daughter of the late Adrien and Rita (née Lauzon) Dufresne. Dear mother to Marc (David), Michelle (predeceased) and Joel (Treena). Loving grandmother to Grant, Alyssa (Brady), Joelle, Ty and great grandmother to Calli, Marek and Shay. She cared for Victoria and Alannah. Well-loved by her three sisters and their husbands, Pauline (Keith), Francine (Tom - predeceased) and Irene (Rick). Adored sister-in-law to Colombe (Yvon), Lorraine (Andre) and Stella (Omer). Fondly remembered by twelve nieces and nephews, their spouses and their children. Ida felt blessed for all the support she and Clément received from family and friends during her illness. Their love and kindness greatly eased her journey and helped her maintain her beautiful spirit until the very end. Thanks to the staff and volunteers at Health Sciences North, the Northeast Cancer Centre and Maison McCulloch Hospice for their compassionate care. Ida was so appreciative. As per her wishes, a Celebration will be held this summer. Donations in Ida's memory may be made directly to Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Northeast Cancer Centre.
