Beland, Clifford N.

In loving memory of Clifford Beland, who passed away after a valiant struggle from complications of a stroke Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the age of 83. Predeceased by his parents Mike and Victoria Beland. Beloved husband of Gladys for 56 years. Loving dad to Darcy and Edward (Joyce). Cherished grandpa to Nicholas (Nadine), Marissa (Preston) and Austin (Cassandra).  Dear brother of Randy, predeceased (Yvette), Grady, predeceased, (Gaetan, predeceased), Diane, predeceased, (Gerry, predeceased) and Carol, predeceased (Louis, predeceased). Sadly missed by sisters in law Laura Mulville, Peggy Thibault, MaryEllen Thompson, Beatrice Lee and Chris Racey.  Clifford will be fondly remembered and missed by many nephews and nieces.

Clifford worked for INCO for 32 years and retired in 1991.  Life truly began when he retired and was able to spend long leisurely summer days gazing at Lake Kagawong and greeting passers by from the deck at his camp on Manitoulin Island.  When grandchildren finally arrived Clifford’s world was transformed!  He spent endless hours dedicated to exploring and rediscovering the world through the eyes of his beautiful grandchildren whom he loved beyond measure.  With his quick wit and impromptu humour, memories of Clifford will be responsible for continued joy, cheer and laughter at family gatherings for years to come. Clifford, though your absence will leave a tremendous void, we thank you for the deep impression that you made in all of our lives.

At Clifford’s request, there will be no service, however, a Celebration of Clifford’s Life will be held at a later date.  If desired, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
