In loving memory of Chantal Marie Jacqueline Baril who passed away on Saturday September 7^th, 2019 peacefully at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, at the age of 66 years old. Beloved sister of Josianne Godfrey (Rodney) of Chelmsford. Also, cherished aunt of Michelle Godfrey (Jason Lauzon) of Sudbury and Jeff Godfrey (Zoë) of North Bay. Loving daughter of Ro-land and Laurette (Patry) Baril, both prede-ceased. Grand aunt to Daxton Godfrey-Tweedy, and Max, Cody, Kyanna and Kyle Lauzon.   After a 28-year career at Laurentian University as admissions officer, she enjoyed her retirement thoroughly. Chantal was an avid reader, gardener and painter. She loved traveling and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also got great pleasure from volunteering at Villa Gabriel and sharing her faith, which was a strong part of her life. She was a devoted parishioner at St Joseph’s church in Chelmsford.   Chantal was a kind soul who cared deeply for others. Her selflessness and passion to help those in need were inspirational. She was a light in this world that was taken too soon. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.   The family would like to thank Dr. Singh and his team for the compassionate care provided throughout her stay at the hospital. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the St Joseph’s Church, 3594 Errington Ave N, Chelmsford at 11:00 a.m.

À la douce mémoire de Chantal Marie Jacqueline Baril, décédée paisiblement à l’âge de 66 ans le 7 septembre, 2019 à l’Horizon Santé-Nord. Sœur bienaimée de Josianne Godfrey (Rodney) de Chelmsford. Chère tante de Michelle Godfrey (Jason Lauzon) de Sudbury et Jeff Godfrey (Zoë) de North Bay. Fille aimante de feu (2015) Laurette Baril (née Patry), et feu (2003) Roland Baril. Grande tante de Daxton Godfrey-Tweedy ainsi que Max, Cody, Kyanna et Kyle Lauzon. Chantal jouissait de sa retraite après une carrière de 28 ans comme officier d’admissions à l’Université Laurentienne. Ses passe-temps favoris étaient la lecture, le jardinage et la peinture.  Elle aimait aussi voyager et passer de bons moments avec sa famille et ses amies. Elle aimait bien faire du bénévolat à Villa Gabriel ayant l’occasion de partager sa foi, qui faisait partie intégrale de sa vie. Elle était une paroissienne dévouée de l’église St.  Joseph à Chelmsford. Chantal était une femme sans pareil qui a toujours su partager sa bonté et sa générosité avec les autres. Son altruisme et sa passion pour aider ceux dans le besoin étaient admirables. Elle était un rayon de lumière qui nous a quitté trop tôt. Elle sera manquée profondément par sa famille et ses amies. La famille tient à remercier Dr. Singh et son équipe pour leurs très bons soins durant son séjour à l’hôpital. Une célébration de vie aura lieu samedi, septembre le 14, 2019 à la paroisse St Joseph à Chelmsford à 11 :00 a.m.
