Banfich, Anthony “Tony”

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Anthony “Tony” Banfich, November 29th. 2017, at the age of 85 at Health Sciences North. Cherished father of Mark Banfich (wife Rose) and Susan Tryon (husband Geoff). Tony cared deeply about his family and was always willing to help when asked. His grandchildren were the apples of his eye and he loved them dearly, he would go above and beyond to ensure their happiness and lifestyles would help them grow into respectful, productive and caring adults: Cpl. Andrew Banfich (wife Laura), Christine Banfich (friend Jesse Therien) and Brandan Banfich (wife Jessica), Zachary Tryon (fiancé Danyka Johannsen), Sarah Tryon (friend Josh Duncan), Alex Tryon (friend Kendra Liinamaa). Great grandson Noah Banfich and his great grandaughter Ava Banfich is expected to enter this world at any time now. Tony was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, an accomplished accordion player and keyboard player, Sudbury Legion member.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, PSW’s and staff at Health Sciences North for the care and compassion shown towards Tony and the family members during this difficult time. As per Tony's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in Timmins at a later date.

  1. Mark, Susan and familes I was shocked to read of Tony’s passing. Whenever I saw him at the Legion he always had a hug for me. I have many memories of getting together with your mom, dad, my parents (Pat & Rusty) at Libera & Leo’s Laframboise’s….many great times….let the good memories help you and your families through the rough times.. take care and God Bless
