Andrews, William “George”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William “George” Andrews on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Finlandia at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of the late Marion Andrews (nee McLaughlin). Loving father of Dolly Vincentini (George) of Sault Ste Marie and Steve (Lynn) of Hanmer. Cherished grandfather of Angie Reed (Mike), Chris Ducharme (Kate) and Jennifer LaBrech (Dylan), great grandfather of Emma, Taylor, Jack and Henry.  Fondly remembered by his niece Lisa Johnston (Trevor) and her son, Zach.  Predeceased by his parents William and Hazel Andrews (nee Stahls). George and Marion grew up in the Ottawa Valley where they married and had their two children before moving to Sudbury in the 1960’s. George worked for the Sudbury Regional Police from 1970 until 1994 when he retired to devote his time to his wife and family. George will always be remembered with a smile on his face, he genuinely loved to make those around him laugh. A private family celebration of George’s life will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made directly to the Alzheimer Society.

He was a man of few words, always calm in any situation but never lost his sense of humor and that little chuckle. May your memories provide you with comfort in your time of sorrow.
