Andlar, Peter Jr. – October 18, 1937 – August 18, 2019

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of Peter Andlar Jr., 81 years, on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Maison McCulloch Hospice, Sudbury. Predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara Andlar (nee Wighton). Loving father of Norene Starkman (Charles), Christine Kovalchuk (Kevin) and Coline Gove (Will). Survived by his brother John, and caring sister-in-law, Dianna Andlar (nee Pella). Cherished grandfather of Karen, Steven, Molly, Olivia, Marissa and Haley. Special uncle to John, David and MaryCatherine. Sadly missed by many, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Peter was a lifelong Sudburian well known in the community for his family’s bakery. An avid sports fan and athlete in many disciplines, Pete could be found at the pool doing laps or enjoying nature walks throughout Sudbury’s South end. Pete’s special place was at his camp on Birch Lake, where family and friends have so many fond memories. A true gentleman and family man, he always had time for others. He loved to “have a chat” and made friends easily. He will be missed by all who knew him. A heartfelt thank you to the Shared Care Team and the entire staff at the Maison McCulloch Hospice. Please join family and friends for a Celebration of Peter’s Life, Saturday, August 31, 2019, in the Ramsey Room at Science North, 100 Ramsey Lake Rd., Sudbury, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made directly to Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
