Aelick, Adam

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Adam Aelick, 22 years, on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Health Sciences North. Cherished grandson of Lily and Rheal Ducharme. Deeply loved son of Rose Ducharme and Randy Aelick (Debbie Aelick). Forever loved brother of Miranda Aelick (Brandon Ladd)and Tia, stepbrother of Brittany. Cherished uncle of Devon, Braydon, Hailey and Brianna. He will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends, especially family friends Sawyer and LeeAnn. He will be greatly missed by his friends from Club Kodiak and co-workers at the Jarrett Centre. Adam was a kind and gentle soul, who strived to bring positivity to those around him. He was a funny and inspiring young man whose laugh could light up a room. He touched countless lives throughout his time with us. Although his time with us was short, he had a large and lasting impact on those around him and lived a good life accomplishing many great things. As a final act of helping others, Adam’s heart, lungs and brain have been donated to science, to help others with Tetralogy of Fallot and 22q. His memory will live on forever on his “22q positivity” social media pages. Adam was a shining light in the online 22q community, a community that he worked so hard to bring together and connect with. He enjoyed bowling with the Special Olympics and playing guitar, the latter of which from long time mentor Joel Mackey. As Adam would say, “Stay positive.”  Cremation has taken place and we will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date.

  9. My condolences from my family to yours.
I came across this beautiful poem.
I will like to share it:

For a second you were flying
    Like you always wanted to
    Now you’ll fly forever
    In skies of azure blue
We’ll see your smile in every ray
    Of sunshine after rain
And hear the echo of your laughter
    Over all the pain
The world’s a little quieter now
The colours have lost their hue
    The birds are singing softly
And our hearts are missing you
Each time we see a little cloud
    Or a rainbow soaring high
We’ll think of you and gently
Wipe a tear from our eye

  10. So sorry for your loss.

It was an honour teaching and playing with Adam in the Sudbury Youth Rocks program.

He never gave up, his spirit was infectious, and he was a welcomed addition to the program.

His laughter and kind demeanor will always be remembered.
